E&P is passionate about project management with governance and delivery. Good governance provides the tools to support the orchestration of the entire organisation towards its strategic goals, thereby unlocking the organisation’s competitive advantage. We believe that the ability to deliver is of paramount importance, and that the ability to deliver is highly correlated with the ability to make decisions. The faster the decisions, the faster the delivery.
We define governance as a framework of authority and accountability that defines, controls and secures the outcomes and benefits of projects, programmes and portfolios. It is a mechanism for exercising financial and technical control over the delivery of work and the realisation of value. Simply put, governance keeps an organisation moving towards its strategic goals.
WAGILE™ encapsulates the governance of the entire delivery lifecycle, from roadmap entry to benefits realisation. It is built using three concepts: ROADMAPiSATION, R@CE and COMMERCIAL SEASONS. These concepts underpin the working practices of a WAGILE™ centric EPMO.
The concepts are applicable independent of the delivery strategy (Waterfall, Agile, SAFe, DevOps or others).
At its core, the WAGILE™ Governance Framework is a decision-making process based on the separation of decision research and decision making, with strong lines of accountability and responsibility that embrace the need for empowerment. Yet this process and its incorporation of delivery models allow projects to be benchmarked and compared. The resulting statistics create a platform for effective communication and promote evidence-based decision making.
The WAGILE™ Governance Framework meets this challenge through the advocation of what we call “good governance”. Good governance promotes project success by aligning work with strategic goals. It creates a balance between the need to control projects and the freedom required by teams to deliver. Good governance is adaptive. It encapsulates the plethora of today’s delivery models and sets the strategic course for the entire delivery organisation.
“Large organizations must build trust and align the excellence of individual units to unleash their full potential and act as one cohesive entity.”
